WarriorBabe vs Lean With Plants: Macros vs Calorie Density for Women Over 40

Two one-on-one coaching programs for women over 40, built on opposite nutrition models: one counts macros every day, the other never counts anything.

WarriorBabe and Lean With Plants are both one-on-one online coaching programs built for women over 40, and they run on opposite nutrition models. WarriorBabe coaches you to hit customized macronutrient targets, which means weighing, logging and tracking protein, carbs and fat every day. Lean With Plants is a 12-week one-on-one plant-based weight loss coaching program for women founded by Chelsea Mae Cullen, built on calorie density instead: you learn to build a plate that produces fat loss without counting anything, and the average client loses around 18 pounds in 12 weeks. We have coached over 3,000 women. This article lays both programs out plainly so you can pick the one you will actually keep doing.

What is WarriorBabe?

WarriorBabe is an online one-on-one fitness and nutrition coaching company for women, with a strong focus on women over 40. It was co-founded in 2018 by Nikkiey Stott, a registered nurse who worked in the ER, and Luke Kish, who is its CEO.

According to their website at the time of writing, their current program is WarriorBabe VIP (an earlier product was called the WarriorBabe Blueprint). It is built on what they call the WB4 Method: you receive customized macronutrient targets (grams of protein, carbohydrate and fat) and a strength training plan, you check in daily with a coach, and you join community calls. One dedicated coach manages both your nutrition and your training and adjusts the plan through four phases they name Personalization, Implementation, Adaptation and Evolution.

A few other things we could confirm from their site. VIP is a 12-month minimum commitment with monthly payment options. Price is not published; their own page says it varies by level of support, and buyers go through a call they call a Body Transformation Assessment before joining. Their site says they are BBB accredited, they have more than 700 reviews on Trustpilot (rated 4.6 out of 5 when we checked in September 2026), and they publish a content hub with rankings-style articles about coaching programs.

There is no plant-based track on their site, but their pricing page says some of their coaches specialize in plant-based clients. If you are vegan and drawn to their approach, ask for one of them.

That is everything we can say about WarriorBabe from their own materials. We have not been through their program, so we are not going to guess at what happens inside it.

What is Lean With Plants?

Lean With Plants is a 12-week one-on-one plant-based weight loss coaching program for women. Chelsea Mae Cullen founded it after spending more than a decade vegan, eating "healthy" food and staying stuck. She lost 40 pounds without counting a calorie and has kept it off for around seven years. The team has now coached over 3,000 women, most of them in their forties, fifties and sixties, some in their seventies, and one in her eighties.

The method rests on three pillars: Nutrition built on calorie density, Fitness and Movement, and Accountability and Habits through the STACK Method. You can read how the pillars fit together on the method page.

Day to day, you eat, you photograph your food in the LWP app, and your dedicated coach coaches you on that plate until you can build a fat-loss-optimized meal anywhere: at home, at a restaurant, at your mother-in-law's table. Nothing is weighed, logged or counted. Alongside the food, you build three or four tiny daily habits of about two minutes each, and movement starts at what we call Rep Zero, which is the habit of showing up before it is ever about the workout.

The full picture is in what is Lean With Plants.

What is the core difference: counting or not counting?

Everything else in this comparison flows from this one question.

Macro tracking means you are given a daily target for grams of protein, carbohydrate and fat. You weigh your food, log it in an app, and adjust the rest of the day so the numbers land. Done well, it is precise, flexible about which foods you eat, and it produces a clear feedback loop. Plenty of women do well on it, especially women who like data, lift seriously, and want to eat a wide range of foods including animal protein.

Calorie density means you never see a number. Oil is roughly 4,000 calories per pound. Non-starchy vegetables are roughly 100. Your stomach registers the volume and weight of what you eat, not its calories, so when you build meals from the low end of that scale you eat a large plate, feel full, and still end up in a deficit. Portion control happens by construction, not by arithmetic. The long version is in calorie density explained.

Here is what we see in practice. The women who come to us have, in most cases, already tried tracking. Many of them were good at it for a while. Then a week got hard: a sick parent, a work deadline, a holiday, three bad nights of sleep. The logging slipped, the numbers stopped landing, and the whole plan felt like it had failed. Tracking works well right up until the day you cannot track, and for a lot of women over 40 those days are not rare.

That is not a criticism of macros. It is a description of who each model is built for. If you enjoy the logging, macros give you a precision that calorie density does not. If you have proven to yourself several times that you will not keep logging, a method that depends on logging is the wrong tool for you, however good it is. Sam, one of our clients, already knew every number. She lost close to 70 pounds once she had real accountability instead of a spreadsheet. Lose weight without counting calories explains the mechanics.

How long is the commitment?

According to their website at the time of writing, WarriorBabe VIP is a 12-month minimum commitment, with monthly payment options.

Lean With Plants is 12 weeks. That is deliberate. The habits are built so they run without a coach, and by week 12 most clients can build their plate anywhere without thinking about it. If life hits hard mid-program (a job change, a bereavement), the program can be paused or extended if you tell us. More in how long is Lean With Plants.

Neither length is right or wrong. A 12-month engagement suits a woman who wants a coach beside her through a full year of training phases. A 12-week engagement suits a woman who wants to learn a skill, install the habits, and then run it herself for life.

Which one fits a plant-based or vegan diet?

WarriorBabe has no plant-based track, but their site says some of their coaches specialize in plant-based clients. Macro targets can be hit on a plant-based diet, but high protein targets on plants take planning, and a coach who eats this way every day will make that far easier than one who does not. If you are vegan and want WarriorBabe, ask for one of those coaches.

Lean With Plants is a vegan company and every coach eats this way. You do not have to be fully vegan yourself: 80 to 90 percent plant-based works, and families who are not plant-based are normal (we build component meals so one dinner feeds everyone). It is not for carnivore or keto eaters. Details in do you have to be vegan for Lean With Plants.

How does the coaching work in each?

Both programs are one-on-one and both include daily check-ins, which puts them in a different category from group programs and apps.

WarriorBabe, according to their site, pairs you with a coach who manages both nutrition and fitness, with daily check-ins and community calls.

Lean With Plants gives you a dedicated coach who messages you daily inside the LWP app. She is a real person, not a bot and not a group chat with 200 women. She sees your meals, your habits and your movement in one place. On top of that there is a weekly community group coaching call with the LWP coaches, and a Q&A every two weeks with Chelsea or Ami-James Deane, our Head of Coaching, on what we call leanness literacy. Every call is recorded. You can meet the team on the coaches page.

Who is WarriorBabe a better fit for?

Based on their own description of their method, WarriorBabe looks like a strong fit if you:

  • Like structure, numbers and a clear daily target
  • Enjoy lifting and want training to be central to the program
  • Eat animal protein and want to keep eating it
  • Want a long engagement, a year or more, with the same coach
  • Have tracked before and found it satisfying rather than draining

If that list describes you, book their assessment call and ask your questions. A method you enjoy is a method you keep.

Who is Lean With Plants a better fit for?

Lean With Plants is a better fit if you:

  • Have tried tracking, more than once, and stopped every time
  • Eat plant-based or want to, and want coaches who do too
  • Want to eat big plates of real food and stop thinking about numbers
  • Are in perimenopause or menopause and need a method that adjusts as your body changes
  • Want a defined 12-week window to build habits you can then run yourself
  • Have a health condition or medication to work around (many clients have diabetes, prediabetes, hypothyroidism or PCOS)

It is not for you if you eat carnivore or keto, if you have had a gastric bypass or gastric sleeve, or if you are not willing to be coached daily. Who is Lean With Plants for covers the edges in detail.

Frequently asked questions

Is WarriorBabe vegan-friendly? There is no plant-based track, but their site says some coaches specialize in plant-based clients. Ask for one of them before you commit to a 12-month term.

Can I do macros on a plant-based diet? Yes, and some people do it well. We do not coach it because the women who come to us have usually already proven that daily logging does not last for them, and because calorie density gets the same fat loss from a plate you can build by eye. Protein on plants is a planning question, not a tracking question; where do you get your protein plant-based covers it.

Which is better for menopause? Both companies work with women over 40, so both have seen menopause up close. Our approach is to work with it rather than fight it: more food, not less, built from low calorie density plates, plus strength work to protect muscle and bone, and a coach who adjusts things as your body changes. Rena joined us at 62, post-menopause, lost 24 pounds in 12 weeks and went from binge eating to binge-free. There is more in plant-based through menopause and food freedom.

Do both programs include one-on-one coaching? Yes. Both describe daily check-ins with a coach. At Lean With Plants that coach messages you daily in the LWP app, and you also get a weekly group call and a Q&A every two weeks, all recorded.

How much does each program cost? Neither company publishes a price. WarriorBabe's site says it varies by level of support and is discussed on their assessment call. Ours is discussed on a free 45-minute Zoom strategy call with someone from the LWP team, and payment plan options exist. How much does Lean With Plants cost explains why we do it this way.

Is 12 weeks long enough to lose weight? On average our clients lose around 18 pounds in 12 weeks, and the point of the program is that the habits keep running after it ends. Tracy lost 20 pounds in 12 weeks after a lifetime of yo-yo dieting. Some women need longer and we say so on the call.

Not sure which one is for you? Talk to us

If you read this and thought "I want the numbers," go and talk to WarriorBabe. If you read it and thought "I never want to log another meal," apply and book a free 45-minute Zoom call with someone from the LWP team. It is a sales call, and we say so up front. It covers where you are today, what caused the weight gain, what you actually want, and whether Lean With Plants is the right way to get there. If we do not think it will work for you, we will tell you.
